How much fun was that? Karen / Widow’s Kiss hosted our second at-home meeting in her lovely home. It was a perfect day to enjoy the patio and the green grass. Such a treat, here in the desert.
We also learned about some famous widows and their drinks. Karen’s namesake was a golden, complex cocktail that required a long time to savor and to disassemble the dozens of flavors it held.
Jackie O’s favorite cocktail — the original daiquiri — was a definite group favorite. Unlike the frozen, super-sweet version of today, the old version was light, citrusy, and crisp. In fact, they went down a little too easy.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable day, and we can’t wait to do it again!
